Okay, I’m just not going to discuss my new place, but it does remind me of something…

Anyway, my cable line-up has changed slightly. Or as AT&T explained it to me, I now live in a “non-rebuilt” area for digital cable (what the f#%k ever), which basically means I have like two thirds of the channels I had before. But don’t worry they did reduce the bill by three whole bucks. It really isn’t a big deal, it just means I only have 4 HBO channels instead of the 11 I had before, so now I can’t watch “Snatch” in Spanish on Latin HBO which was pretty entertaining since you can’t understand much of what Brad Pitt is saying in the English version. But speaking of the English version.. my new favorite channel is BBC America. “Changing Rooms” is way better than “Trading Spaces.” It’s only half an hour, which is preferable for my attention span, and you can make fun of people’s accents. And “So Graham Norton” is so funny and very racy, by American standards it’s practically uncensored! I’ve been watching so much of it sometimes the thoughts in my head have a British accent - which at least breaks up the monotony. And I now call aluminum foil “al-loo-min-ee-um” foil and the hood of my car is now the “bonnet.” They also run very peculiar promos, or as my roommate put it, “Oh those wacky Brits and their cross-dressing ways.” So it’s a good think I got to keep BBC. On the other hand, I had begun to feel like I was missing out on something by not watching the Anna Nicole Smith show. I had seen the first episode last month. It was surreal and a bit disturbing so I had basically dismissed it. But I had heard so many people joking about it I wanted to give it another shot. But every time I searched my digital cable listings for it I couldn’t find it. Then I finally figured out.. I don’t have E anymore! How can I not have the Entertainment Network? Entertainment is the priority of my life! Granted I’ve only intentionally watched the channel twice in the past year, to see “E: True Hollywood Stories” feature Mariah Carey and Martha Stewart (both times I felt they held back on the really scandalous stuff); but what if I decide I need a reminder that Howard Stern is just an over-rated radio talk show host suffering from testosterone poisoning? And now that I know I CAN’T watch Anna Nicole and Sugar Pie, I just know it is like the best show ever, except for Law & Order of course. And the new season is starting, and far more importantly, Hockey season is starting! And the temperature is only supposed to reach the 60’s & 70’s! God I love the Fall!
