No, YOU Shut Up!

little heaven

February 15th, 2003 by g

I have very little to complain about this week. [I know..weird, huh!] I saw Toad the Wet Sprocket, greatest band ever, living or dead, Tuesday night. When they broke up four or five years ago I was heartbroken. So the announcement of a brief reunion tour was a very big deal! Thank god they came to Boulder, and thank m I got to go! It was like seeing old friends you haven’t seen in years. I really can’t explain how much I love their music (and it’s a little too personal for me to try). Also, Kathy arrived for a visit, we ate at the Cheesecake Factory, and on Valentines Day i ate a hot fresh crepe spread with Nutella (yummm-mmy) as snow gently fell in Breckenridge! Life just doesn’t get much better! And I still have Monday to look forward to with the finale of Joe Millionaire (tho at this point i’m really just looking forward to it being over) and another Michael Jackson expose‘ (did i mention that i had the date wrong and taped Crossing Jordan last week? what a waste.) That’s a pretty big night!
By the way “little heaven” is a Toad song from the motion picture soundtrack for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’ve seen them in concert now 5 times in 4 states. Below is a semi-chronological list of the concerts I have been to, including the embarassing ones, that I can remember:
Journey
(they’re gonna get embarassing really quick here)
Def Leppard
Motley Crue (I saw Tommy’s big weenie)
Aerosmith
Van Halen (why did it take me so long to stop wasting my time on boys with bad taste in music?)
Extreme (remember them? i won tickets a guitar + back stage passes to this one - we won’t go into how)
Red Hot Chilli Peppers (that’s more like it)
Pearl Jam (welcome to grunge)
Nirvana (i actually saw Kurt Cobain with his purple hair play two bars of “Teen Spirit” then smash his guitar, and walk off stage after only playing for 25 minutes. it was pretty cool!)
Depeche Mode
The Cult
Toad (Hawaii)
Toad (Hawaii)
The Cure (Incredible!!)
Sarah McLachlan
Toad (New York)
Duran Duran (just not the same in the 90’s)
Toad (New Jersey)
The Cure (Amazing!)
Glen Phillips (lead singer of Toad now performs as a solo artist)
Glen Phillips
U2 (Finally!)
Depeche Mode (Dave puts on an even better show when he’s clean)
Glen Phillips
Toad (Colorado)
~That’s it, but I’m sure I’ve forgotten one or two. Other than Toad which is of course my favorite and forever will be, I couldn’t pick a favorite but the front runners would have to be Depeche Mode, The Cure, and of course U2!
I’ve also attended hockey games in 10 cities (and 2 countries), I’ll run down that list some other time.
