Yeah, yeah, so I’ve been away for awhile, bfd. And since it’s independence day, well actually it was yesterday but the banks and post office were closed today so I think I can make it in just under the wire, anyway, since it’s independence day here’s a relative topic… fireworks. My boyfriend told me yesterday that boys don’t like fireworks. Well, not really “don’t like,” more like don’t care. He asked me, if I have ever heard of a guy being excited to go see a fireworks show? And uh, no I haven’t. he explained that in the post-pyromania years of adolescence they are just not interested unless it might get them laid. How would fireworks get one laid, I inquired? The answer, because girls do like fireworks and get all, I don’t know, fired up. Aren’t they sweet? So If the guy you’re dating seems particularly patriotic, this may explain his enthusiasm.

According to my boyfriend only women spill things on their computer keyboard or lock their keys in the car (unfortunately I had no evidence to the contrary).

Then again guys, are getting more & more sensitive all the time. Have you seen the hair color isle at wal-mart lately? All these frosty-tipped, spikey-haired boys in their turtlenecks giving you their best “blue steele.” And I am not just talking about ‘just for men.’ It confuses me – can I still buy those colors?
So anyway I guess that’s something both sexes have in common now..

Anyway, I, like most girls, really enjoy a good fireworks display. [Tho I haven't seen one in many years because Kylie is fairly traumatized by all the noise so I stay home with her.] But I’m listening to the evening news while I’m typing this and hearing stories of 11 injured here at a fireworks show and I think they said somebody died in Pennsylvania, and a girl actually lost her leg in a fireworks mishap in Ohio. Not to mention all the related fires - homes, entire apartment buildings, forests, etc. Is it really worth it? Don’t we have enough to worry about without all the self-inflicted destrutive behavior?!
