the end of the tunnel

i have got to stop watching so much reality television – i am getting dumber by the episode… my boss (by the way, i think i’m on job 27 now) thought he was being cute and gave us a spelling test. visit the site below to take it yourself:

i failed miserably. i blamed it on the fact that as a multiple choice it is designed to confuse. and more truthfully, that i used to be an excellent speller but now spell check does all my thinkin’ for me (obviously this blog program does not have spell check). but the truth is i am getting dumber every day and i’m not sure how i’m going to survive senility which is about 5 minutes away!

oh well, i’ll worry about that later! speaking of reality tv, the better reason to quit watching is because it is sucking! i know, hard to believe right? but seriously, we’re several weeks into survivor and i don’t even know anybody’s name. and that’s not the early onset of senility talking, there is just nobody interesting enough to remember or get invested in. the smoker guy is pretty funny accidentally. i mean, maybe you could’ve at least cut back from your 3-pack a day habit before going on national television and trying to get along with a bunch of yahoos, and before going cold turkey on things like food and any other modern convenience, on top of going from 10 cigarettes/hour to none? maybe you could have tried the patch or some nicotine gum or some prozac or something? hey, do they let you take your prescription drugs with you on survivor? speaking of prescriptions.. gotta go to bed soon so i can get up and go pick up my refill for Zoloft. yes i’ve joined the prozac nation (or in my case, the zoloft nation), but i digress.. and i was so looking forward to the amazing race coming back – the real amazing race not the total rip-off, family edition filmed on location entirely in utah, featuring the ass hat weaver family in all their ignorance and bigotry. but the premier of season 9 last week was quite a let down. of course it was great to see the ‘phil-iminator’ especially starting in colorado, but what craptastic casting! there was seemingly nobody even tolerable. and the apprentice is just not even worth discussing.
however there is a blinding light at the end of the tunnel of this prime time wasteland… after a year and a half of waiting and analyzing every episode of the previous 5 seasons (again), the long awaited highly anticipated new season of The Sopranos begins in 5 short days!! Thank you, David Chase! I have not been this excited about a tv show since, well since season 5 was about to start. (tho a close second would be the recent, explosive episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ which until this sunday will remain easily the best tv currently on tv).

and there are more things to look forward to in the near future. specifically the drive in will be opening for the season in less than two weeks! woohoo! i’ll have to explain later why that is so exciting. but here’s a clue: http://cinderelladrivein.com
ps: i just noticed this new blog program does have a spell check tool. i’ll be sure and use that next time. then maybe i’ll even figure out how to make a frickin’ hyperlink.
