okay, let’s not start the week off on such a sour note, let’s not be debbie downer.. i should have mentioned the fun we had this weekend. yes, that’s right, we had fun without going to the drive in! we went to the shooting range & took shooting lessons!! now that’s fun! loud & destructive fun - the best kind! m & i took a .45 & a 9mm, but the instructor had us start off with her (yes, it was a chick!) .22. it was cool, very little recoil and we had pretty good beginner’s luck with the targets, so we quickly moved up in calibur to the 9mm, which became my favorite, a .38 revolver, then the .45, which was m’s favorite (it has a laser site on it - cooool! but a bit too heavy for me to maintain any accuracy). this may sound strange or unexpected but it’s something we’ve been intending to do for over a year now. so now we have a new hobby. it’s kind of an expensive hobby (all the good ones are), but fortunately Tuesday is Ladies Day at the range! girls get half off their range time every tuesday. oh, and the best part is it does not depend on the weather (it’s an indoor range), there’s not a season where we won’t be able to go for several months, they will never be showing re-runs at the shooting range or crappy movies that have been out for three months, and they will never run out of ammo. you just have to show up with your ear protection (did i mention its really fucking loud?), and your eye protection (did i mention the casings kept hitting me in the head, shoulders, chest, etc?), aim, and fire! it’s quite empowering and fun, fun, fun!
