No, YOU Shut Up!

New drive in reviews

OMG, “Click” was so bad! I wouldn’t even think that Sandler lovers would like it because it’s trying to be a family film, and they thought he was selling out with “The Wedding Singer.” But then he tries to please his icky boy fans with some fart jokes, dogs humping & bouncing boobs. So bad!! I’m serious, there was not so much as a chuckle until he had fast ffwd’d to 2017 or something, and you hear celebrity news on the radio to the effect that Britney Spears just gave birth to her 23rd baby and proud father Kevin Federline had announced that he was thinking about getting a job; and Michael Jackson, the first person to clone himself, was now suing himself for molesting himself. Then “The Break Up” was just… unpleasant, except of course for Vince Vaughn who is always funny and his scenes with his friend Favreau are hysterical. Otherwise, who wants to watch two hours of very, very realistic arguments between a couple (it’s not fun to have them, why would it be entertaining to watch them)? And Jen was just being desperate and sad, and making girls as a whole look pathetic. Maybe part of the problem was that earlier in the afternoon we watched “Syriana,” which was a bit of thinker. The parts that I could follow were really good, and i really considered going out and buying a hybrid today. Anyway, we didn’t stay for “F&F:TD,” it just seemed unlikely that things were going to get better.
Today, instead of going out to buy a hybrid, we went out to see “Superman Returns” at the Imax in 3D!! I feel that I owe it to Brandon to go above & beyond to help the box office numbers since i may be unintentionally negatively affecting things (besides, I miss him). So we get there at 3:30 for the 4:00 show, but it was sold out as was the 7:15 show! Good news for Brandon, bad news for me, i kinda had my hormones set on seeing him. So here i am, yes right now, while i’m typing, at the 88 Drive In! i had heard rumors that there was another drive in, north of Denver so we looked into it and guess what their second feature is on their single screen… “Superman Returns”! Yay, Kylie gets to see it! She’s thrilled. Actually she was far more entertained last night, not because of Sandler, but because there were cats everywhere! At the moment she is somewhat interested in “Garfield, a Tale of Two Kitties” (it’s good that somebody is); I guess because there are lots of talking animal animals running around on the screen (and ok, the british ferret is really cute) and there are no real cats to speak of. Or maybe she’s just confused about Jennifer Love Whoosit’s wig.
By the way, Robert Ebert gave Garfield a thumbs up and Superman Returns a thumbs down. i’m not going to say anything nasty about that now however because Mr. Ebert is currently in the hospital in serious condition.
So, it’s Brandon at the drive in tonight, and we have plans to buy Imax tickets online and go with friends on thursday. Hopefully that will be enough to make up for my kryptonite - and of course i will buy the dvd.
oh and for the record, no they do not have a wireless connection at the 88 drive in (they don’t even have locks on the doors on the bathroom stalls), or at the cinderella drive in - we’ve checked. i’m just typing a text file now to paste when i get home.

Superman Returns, Brandon Routh
