you may or may not be aware there are some very important issues up for debate and even tho i haven’t voted in an election since 2000 and have pretty much vowed to never vote again, i feel these issues deserve my attention and that your opinion matters too (as long as it is the same as mine).
[before i go any further let me explain myself and my vow of abstinence from the democratic election process which i am aware is my privilege as an american. my reasons are two fold.. first, it was in the presidential election of 2000 that i went out of my way after a long day at the office to stand in line and cast my ballot only to realize that my vote didn't count because i wasn't living in florida. and B, i don't buy into that whole "if you didn't vote you can't complain" bull shit. in fact, my position is quite the opposite. i can complain because i'm not the one who put the idiot in office, that was you civic-minded voting citizens!]
anyway, i’m pissed off so i feel i have to act. grey’s anatomy is one of the best, and currently one of the most successful shows on tv. i love that show! almost every week they make me laugh and even make me tear up a little and i’ve become really hard core when it comes to sad tv and movies. the writing is fantastic and i love the characters, i even like dr. preston burke. he’s arrogant of course, but he’s a surgeon so that’s to be expected, but he’s also articulate and considerate and he’s sometimes accidentally funny, and he’s nice to george - and like everyone who loves the show, i love george! so i had decided after the on-set isaiah washington “incident” that was leaked to the press a few months ago that i would ignore it. we all know that actors are asshole, primadonas on the set prone to temper tantrums, throwing cell phones, etc. you would think, however that for the sake of the continued success of your hit television show you could behave like a rational human being, but hey everybody makes mistakes. then i saw the clip from the golden globes and the slur heard round the world, and realized isaiah washington was a hateful, pompous, asshole, and not even particularly bright. what the hell are you thinking man?! people had pretty much forgotten about it, not even sure it was true, then you go and… stick your foot in your great big hateful mouth, pissing off gay people and george fans decent people world-wide. then you make it 100 times worse by vehemently denying that you said it and by trying to hump patrick dempsey to prove “it’s all good” when your fellow cast members are no longer willing to cover for you. i refuse to get involved in a battle between minorities here, but i will say that if the situation was reversed and t.r. had grabbed the mic and said, “no, i never called isaiah a n___.” it would NOT be ok, it would not be overlooked, and shonda would not have tried to laugh it off. he would be gone. i will also say that the assertion that the member of one minority group does not have to be sensitive to members of a different minority group because “they live it,” is utterly ludicrous!
anywhooo… i’m pissed off because isaiah’s idiocracy is ruining my show!! so i am exercising my rights as an american and a television viewer by petitioning to have isaiah removed from the cast, and i’m not telling anybody how they should feel or what they should do, but here’s the link to the petition: Fire Isaiah Washington
furthermore, we all know that air travel in america just pretty much sucks! you get no food, unless you pay 5 bucks for a dry bologna sandwich with a pack of raisins - i hate raisins! you get a tiny little seat with no leg room and you’re crammed in with a bunch of asshats who carry on more luggage than you could fit in the trunk of your car and forced to watch reruns of tv shows WITH commercials! and it’s not like it’s cheap - unless you fly on spirit airline’s 8 cent fares! seriously, they were offering 8 cent fares! of course even tho you could fly from detroit to haiti (do people really go to haiti?) you couldn’t fly back, not directly anyway - but hey, what do you want for 8 cents?!
then there’s Virgin Atlantic, an airline with class! mood lighting in both cabins, a touch screen for every seat with a state of the art entertainment system with handheld gaming controls, and a keyboard and power & usb jacks. AND they offer competitive fares! and look at the greeting on their website..
i like them already! but they’re not allowed to fly in the u.s.! damn it we can’t have nice things!! wtf? how is that even possible? anyway, they’re running a campaign to force whoever’s in charge to let them fly in america - check out the video on youtube.

what you’re missing. you’ll believe it when they say that “flying will be something you look forward to!”
on the website you can sign a petition to let them fly, and even send a message to congress! so it’s up to you people - get involved, take a stand!
