No, YOU Shut Up!

a week in the life of my tivo - sunday

January 21st, 2007 by g

i hate to say it, but i’m a little burned-out on celebrity gossip. i know, tragic right?! what is going to get me out of bed in the morning, or early afternoon as the case may be, if my inquiring mind no longer wants to know if britney is pregnant again or what jessica’s new lips look like? maybe it was britney’s chocha that did it, i don’t know but with lindsay hohan in rehab there’s going to be a big drop-off in daily smut anyway. so i hope you’ll bear with me and my blog as i venture away from the main-stream and share some other slices of my life, yadda, yadda, yadda.

for example, if you’ve spent much time on my blog you know my tivo’s & i have a very close relationship. they’re like my children. so just like those people who won’t stop talking about their kids, i am going to keep you posted on what my tivos do day in & day out for a whole week. (you may want to hope that brad & angie adopt an african village or paris & nicole come out of the closet and elope to vermont so i’ll find something more interesting to post.)

i could have started this series on saturday, but i would have had to admit to tivoing three lifetime movies. the best one had jane from melrose place as a nanny who was having an affair with the married man she worked for so his wife hired somebody to kill her but they screwed up and killed the single mother upstairs. it was called, “baby monitor: sound of fear.” it was fantastic!

anywhoo.. on sunday i tivo’d the patriots & the colts playoff game. i mostly watched it in real time but i set it to record so i would remember it was on because i’m not a big football fan but i do like the patriots and i do like to have something to contribute around the water cooler if you know what i mean. normally i would be tivoing “cold case” but it was bumped for the game, which i have to say i don’t mind because i have to admit that i like the show but it is usually really frickin’ depressing and the patriots losing was only somewhat depressing because i’m not really that invested and clearly to come back the way they did, the colts just wanted it more.

“without a trace” was next, and it was a good thing i was watching the game because i realized that it ran like forty minutes long so i had to tivo the filler show that was on afterwards.

“intervention” the best reality show ever - even tho they NEVER have new episodes! why do i tivo repeats you ask? because they always put updated follow up info at the end and you get kind of invested in these people. here are some observations from someone who has seen every episode… (a) parents, it is very very bad to have a “favorite” child and an even worse thing to let your child know that they are your favorite. (b) gambling addicts never rehab. (3) cristy is like a rock star, no a super hero. she’s the happiest damn alcoholic meth addict alcoholic ever. and (d) compared to these people i am totally sane and completely well-adjusted. (and now you know why i watch intervention).

stay tuned…

notice what i do not tivo on sunday nites? “the apprentice” not even if you paid me.

—-update——-

i’m not the only one fascinated with the surreality of cristy, we found a really great, semi-intelligent, introspective post about her and about “intervention.” this is how it starts..
“”An alcoholic meth addict stripper throws food, spits, plays the music of Nine Inch Nails or some ‘industrial’ band that aspires to be Reznorian, and engages in a fist fight with her sister that goes from in to outdoors. She is nude throughout.”
you should read the rest. oh, and there’s video too!
