As it turns out, my tivos don’t have much to do on Wednesday either…
“medium” - still find this crime drama unique and less predictable than the 800 other crime dramas on tv currently. and i really like the writing, especially the dialogs between allison and joe. it seems so realistic, in a good way, compared to most husband-wife stuff on tv. realistic yet not completely uncomfortable like tony and carmella, which is totally realistic in a really bad way.
“criminal minds” - normally tivo’s upstairs because it’s in the same time slot as the aforementioned show about the crime-fighting paranormalist. love mandy patinkin’s character, as usual, love the young dr. genius. [can’t think of his character’s name probably because we call him “peanut” because on “dead like me,” one of the best shows ever, mandy patinkin’s character called the young, main character of the show, Georgia, “peanut” in a very parental, yet endearing way. hate shemar moore and/or his character, who’s name i also can’t think of at the moment, because of the over-acting. he thinks he’s still on a soap opera. and hate the over-played quirky IT chick, Garcia - yeah like the fbi would really hire her. and especially hate the forced, flirtatious, relationship between the two of them. still it’s another unique and usually unpredictable crime drama. unfortunately, they’ve only had like two new episodes in as many months. perhaps that’s why i can’t remember any of the character’s names now!! what’s up with that? maybe they’re saving all their new material for when you-know-what get’s back (still two weeks away, btw) so when they compete they can have “16 new episodes, with no repeats” too.
yes, i’m talking about “LOST.” ugh, i soooo didn’t want to talk about “lost.” however, the way things are going, it looks like i’m not only going to be talking about it, i’m going to be tivoing it again. because, in the biggest event regarding my tivo this week and possibly EVER, on wednesday i also…..
cancelled my Season Pass for “Grey’s Anatomy.”!! =( !!
i’m sure you heard by now that their next big pr blunder in the total cluster-fuck that has become Grey’s Anatomy production is the announcement that they are sending isaiah washington to rehab. yes, REHAB for assholes! which i guess makes him an “ass-a-hole-ic,” or something equally ridiculous! this rehab thing is completely out of control! leave it to hollywood to completely devalue the whole concept of addiction recovery. if you’re a celebrity you can get detoxed from anything. what a crock! and how completely…. corporate of all of them, especially shonda. i’m disgusted. and here’s the problem… it won’t make a damn bit of difference for me to not watch the show. i’m not a nielson family, and while they do also monitor tivo activity (yes i realize that should bother me, but it doesn’t) and often include that when they guage ratings, it is not going to matter that i will be using only my downstairs tivo this thursday at 8:00 to record CSI, which formerly would have been relegated to the upstairs tivo and transferred downstairs to be watched on friday. and even if my vote did count, and you know how i feel about voting, it seems to me now that they’ve forced him into “treatment” the CAN’T fire him. so the most my boycott would do is eventually lead to the show getting canceled entirely, which is really cutting off your face to spite your nose or something like that, plus that puts T.R. out of a job too. so what’s a tivo to do???
i just know right now, it’s all tainted. i can’t watch dr. burke and dr. o’malley act like they’re friends. not right now. so i’ll skip it this week, we’ll be out of town next week, and i won’t tivo it while i’m gone, and hopefully after that something more scandalous will have happened somewhere in tv land and we can focus on something else because i’m really tired of hearing about this. then maybe i can enjoy watching grey’s anatomy again (fastforwarding thru isaiah washington’s scenes) just in time for the season premier. - this sucks!!!!!
oh wait, i did tivo something else on tuesday and wednesday, “the daily show!” i heard that my friend, lewis black, was on and commenting on the grey’s anatomy situation. what he actually said after reading a quote by isaiah washington apologizing because he realizes that there is obviously something wrong “in his soul,” was something like… “you see.. isaiah’s good people! it’s just his SOUL that is a giant dick!” -very funny!
this reminded me of how much i like “the daily show” so i tivo’d it and “the colbert report,” also hilarious, on tuesday and wednesday.
