So we took off on our road trip, west bound and down, loaded up and rollin’… we stopped at Breckenridge to check out the International Snow Sculpting Championship.

Overall, it was smooth sailin’ and we made pretty good time!

Oh there was a sledding incident when we stopped in Breckenridge. Me & Kylie (Kylie & I ???) went up the big hill at Carter Park, best sled hill in Colorado. Took off down the hill, which is about 100 yards, and were going at a pretty good clip since the snow at this point was very packed. We spun and started going backwards pretty early on, which is not that unusual, got to the level area at the bottom of the hill, which is probably about 50 yards, and I realized we weren’t snowing down - at all. There is a building at the end of that 50 yard stretch and they plow the sidewalk in front of it which creates a pretty big snow bank, or in this case a snow ramp. When I realized we weren’t going to be stopping by any natural means, I tried dragging my heels in the snow, which only resulted in me having only one shoe, as we sailed over the aforementioned snow ramp. I let out a little scream and held Kylie tight against me as we launched, then it’s just a blur. Fortunately we came to a very abrupt stop on a patch of ice with 6 feet or so of pavement in front of us and the building about 3 feet behind us. Realizing we narrowly escaped a true “agony of defeat” moment, I started laughing and didn’t stop for awhile. Our faithful friend, m, who filmed the whole thing so you can see for yourself

I asked her why you can’t here her say “oh, shit!” or “oh, no!” or “or call an ambulance” or something when we went over the edge, and she said, “well i didn’t want to ruin the video in case you were ok.”
Anyway, then m brought me my shoe, helped us up, and we decided that was enough sledding for one day, and we were back on the road again.
