The OC
anyway… back to our road trip, i don’t know if i mentioned it but the destination was orange county to visit our friends there. i’d love to share the highlights with you, but for me, as you know, the “highlights” are what other people consider the lo-lights, because lets face it the best stories are when things go awry, and since normally our trips are fraught with peril we usually have lots of hilarious road trip stories, like drug-sniffing dogs searching our car at 2 a.m. on the side of the interstate, sudden snow squalls, exploding batteries, breaking glass doors at convenience stores, and the like. but this trip was uncharacteristically uneventful – in a good way. no car trouble, no fighting with friends, no lost limbs, no kidding, so what can i say??
oh wait, we had some issues in disneyland, the train broke down so we waited and waited, mostly because i’ve never ridden the train so i’ve never seen the dinosaurs, but after ten minutes or so we gave up and as soon as we got around the corner, choo-chooooo, the train took off. oh well. then in California Adventure, California screamin’ broke down – well actually while we were in line they made an announcement that they had “momentarily” suspended operation, but because we got burned waiting on the train my friend, steeeeeve, said we should bail so as soon as got out of line, “woooosh!” it went right by us. damn it!! oh, then on a different night we got kicked off of space mountain because some girl on the car was too tall. but that’s about it, and how much can you really complain when you get into disneyland for free? that’s right – we’ve got connections in the magic kingdom so we always go for free, it’s awesome!!

so we went in and out of the park for a few days, did some shopping, including ikea (god bless the swedes!), and spent lots of time with old and new friends. it was fantastic!
