In case you’ve been wondering about my new theme, the little pup wearing green is Bastardino and the little pup wearing pink is Polepettina (which is italian for “little meatball”). They are a creation of tokidoki and part of the Cactus Friends collection, and they are sooooo cute!!

What’s the significance of their little costumes?? The cactus is a sign of protection. Bastardino & Polepettina are ornery, yet naive and vulnerable and in need of protection. They zip themselves into cactus suits because they think the world is a cold and scary place, and they need some armor to face it. Also the cactus is the conserver or water, and water means life. These cactus friends are the representation of life and contradiction, of being fragile and strong at the same time, cute yet prickly, and their friendship is pure like water. And did I mention they are really cute?!

They were a special, but not-so-cuddly gift from a special (but not-so-cuddly ) friend; and i suspect they’re in for lots of adventures!
