so today technically fall begins finally - we all know how much i hate don’t enjoy summer. and while there’s plenty going on that is gossip-worthy, i don’t want to talk about britney losing custody of her kids, or paris considering adopting kids (but i will say parenthetically, that i saw one that is perfect for her. click here to see Kenadie Jourdin-Bromley, who at 4 years old weighs 10 pounds due to dwarfism. she would fit right in paris’ purse just like her pets. but then again the poor girl probably has enough problems without mommy paris making her feel bad if she gains 2 ounces, “Kenadie, boys won’t like you if you’re fat.”), i especially don’t want to talk about o.j.
nope, it’s fall and there are much better things to talk about… like, it’s premier week on television!! yay, television!!
after a long, hot summer of watching shit like dog, criss angel, and the scott baio show, which i call “chachi loves chachi,” fiiiiiinally there’s gonna be good stuff on! btw, i am dog & mindfeak free for almost 3 weeks now - and i’m pretty sure my blood pressure has come down a few points.
but i actually jumped the gun last week thanks to my “on demand” service and watched some new show pilots which will in turn save my tivo a lot of trouble. so i thought i would pass along my preview to you:
Chuck - ummm well, i guess i can only give it the hum-drum rating of “you could watch it.” it’s not awful, but trying to cross comedy w/j.j. abrams-ish spy stuff (which means completely far-fetched to say the least) has got to be pretty tricky. it was hard to tell if there were some elements of the story that we were supposed to be taking seriously. on any other network i would say it will only last the one season, but nbc & cbs are pretty brutal when it comes to pulling the plug (unlike abc) so chuck may only get the 7 week run like “studio 60″ did then maybe they’ll finish it up at the end of the season. then again, what do i know.
Journeyman - gets the fairly generous rating at this point of “not bad,” but i give it the same long-term prognosis as Chuck, one season, max. it was kind of like an interesting new take on the “quantum leap” premise. the only problem i had is it was a little stressful and i don’t know if i want to sign up for that on a weekly basis. for now i’ll set a season pass for it on my tivo and see how it goes. who knows, if they can keep the “heroes” audience from changing the channel they’ll be in good shape and maybe stick around.
Bionic Woman - very, very, disappointed to give it one of the worst possible ratings, “totally sucked”!! as a kid, jamie sommers was my hero, and “bionic woman” was the best show ever - since “wonder woman” and until “charlie’s angels”, apparently i was always into chicks kicking ass!! but this remake, much like many remakes, is crap! i don’t even know how to explain what’s wrong with it, it was just bad, as in not good. i’m sure you’ll want to see for yourself, afterall, i hate LOST & 24 and by all accounts those are the greatest shows to ever grace my television. [speaking of... so glad LOST isn't back 'til february!!! that's hilarious! but at that point, really, what's the point???] but i will not be burdening my friend tivo with this one. my prediction for it’s life-span… well, considering i kinda hated it i’d say it will do very, very, very well and be on for at least oh 6 years.
so today i have the task of tivo season pass managing to set up and prioritize my fall line up. stay tuned…
