So as it turns out my fall season pass schedule is kinda slim, but I’m going for quality not quantity (with at least one glaring exception). here’s how it’s shaping up with some commentary on how things went with a few of the premieres:
sun:
- cold case
mon:
- heroes - best show ever (except the late sopranos
)! i thought the premier was awesome! they did a great job of introducing new characters and laying groundwork for new story lines, and making me not wanna wait a week til the next one!
- journeyman
- 2.5 men + rules of engagement - gotta have a little comedy and both were very funny!
tues:
- reaper - only knew about this because i read a blurb about it in the paper and it sounded like a rip-off of “dead like me” which of course got my attention because that show rocked! but i figured if this show was any good it would be on a real channel, not on the cw so i had very low expectations. just finished watching the pilot and it was quite entertaining! a completely silly premise, but it was directed by Kevin Smith, who probably also loved “dead like me,” they even cast delores herbig (brown eyes), so i will be interested to see how it goes.
wed:
- criminal minds - sadly mandy has already left the show so i suspect this will only be on my schedule for a week or two, but we’ll see if they can recover.
thu:
- survivor - this is the glaring exception i referred to but i decided not to resist, but the premier was completely unremarkable, oh but already haaate that gwen stefani wannabe who is constantly reminding us she’s from new york city and therefore superior. i guarantee you this is proof positive she’s originally from jersey.
- csi - can we please keep the miniature killer? very cool!
- without a trace
- 30 Rock - if i was petite and had a high-paying network job, i think i would be liz lemon.
- er - ugh i so don’t wanna watch this show.. please get some movie roles, goran.
fri:
- intervention
- numbers
btw, i was advised i should give “bionic woman” another chance because sometimes it takes more than one episode to build up you know, some momentum or something. but i pointed out that there is a bionic bad guy (actually bad woman) and that seems ridiculous. and then i was also advised that the asshole formerly known as dr. burke on grey’s anatomy will be joining the cast and if i stopped watching a show that i liked because of him i definitely can’t watch a show i don’t like with him.
other possibilities include some late-starters like “samantha who?” and “women’s murder club” both starting in mid-october, so technically we’ll be in drop & add for another three weeks or so.
anybody else have any other suggestions (other than dancing w/the stars, because that is not going to happen)?
ps: where the hell is Law & Order??

Additional program notes: I find it noteworthy that by wednesday night of premier week, i have heard the expression, “ass clown,” which has been one of my favorite compound insults for several years now. in fact i just found the first post where i used the expression and it was in 2003! first i heard it on “cold case,” second on “reaper.” also i have heard the song, “lazy eye,” by silversun pickups (or as i call them “smashing pumpkins without the attitude”) twice - first on “reaper” and then on “criminal minds.” what could it mean??…
i think it can only mean that television writers are reading my blog!

For me… its probably just Survivor and then Food Network and HGTV… I joined NetFlix and have been have\ing a lot of fun watching those little indi films that you can’t find at the video store… besides that I’m not much into anything else.
